Fall Chick Event

Fall is finally here and that means apple cider, camp fires, pumpkins, and festivals. This past month we went to one of our favorites, the Chick Event. This year it took place at Johnson Farms in Belton, Missouri; they are also a pumpkin and garden center. Chick Event is a pop-up market of vintage and handmade items based out of our neighboring state, Leawood, Kansas. They do many events throughout the year throughout Kansas and Missouri. We like going to their events to get great deals from local artists and not only that but you also support local artists.

Launderette Numbered Style is one of our favorite small businesses because they have such a great story. Their necklaces and bracelets all have a vintage laundry pin with so much story behind them. It takes up-cycling to a new level. Rosie bought a beautiful double necklace with a flower and a vintage laundry pin.

If you're big into natural jewelry, then Didericksen Designs earrings are for you. I have a few of their round wooden stud earrings and love them. They let all different kinds of wood speak for themselves.

Tammy Smith Designs is one of our favorite local artists with her iconic hand drawn tea towels, cups, and art prints. It doesn't matter where you're from; there is a handmade print for your home state.

Urban Smirk doesn't have just ordinary kitchen towels; these are cute quirky message towels. Spice up your kitchen with one these like I did!

I was still doing Self Health September at the time, so I didn't get to have a sugary frozen apple cider. This food truck has great healthy food options without cutting out taste. These Korean beef lettuce wraps really hit the spot.

Willett Studios earrings are so cute and the median used to make these earrings make them unique. My favorite one would have to be the cheeseburger earrings, but I also love that she does seasonal earrings too.

Blair is a young freshman girl with such amazing talent. These beautiful drawings of Kansas City buildings really shows what great work she can do.

So be sure to watch the video and be sure to check out the links so you to can support your local artists. Be sure to subscribe for more videos like this one.
