Kansas City Fashion Week Thursday Show Fall 2017
Thursday's show for Kansas City Fashion Week was the second show of the week but our first. This Fall Show took place in the beautiful "The Grand Hall" located by Power & Light. When we arrived we got our seats and then headed to get a cocktail from KC Bier Co and Clear 10 Vodka, walking up the stairs to see the presentation designer RICH Apparels and then getting our picture taken on the red carpet before we explored all of the booths. We saw the beautiful jewelry collection from Georgina Herrera who would be showing on Saturday night and Erin Paige who paired her jewelry with More Than Just Figleaves collection that evening. We got to speak with LEE Jeans and found out that they're more local than we thought. Lee Jeans is over in our sister State, Kansas, over in Merriam. They also were showing some of their new fall looks during the evening show. Thursday was also the night of raising money for Kansas City Fashion Council.

There were eight very different and unique designers for the Thursday show. They had Crystle Lampitt from 38 The Spot & 41 Action News, host the show along side members of the Kansas City's City Council. Now let's start seeing some of our favorite looks from each Thursday night's designers.
Roger Figueroa
Local designer Roger Figueroa is a student at Johnson County Community College. He has been in quite a few of Kansas City Fashion Week Shows with many stunning collections. This collection look is very cohesive with a gray and black color palette. It's perfectly wearable for this fall with it being what I would call modern New York chic! I feel like you could just take one of his pieces and put it with what you're wearing to make a complete classic look, whether it be for every day or this beautiful long black dress for a evening out. I always like to see what Roger will do at the next fashion show we see him in because he always has that perfect dress you want to wear.
Wiki Wang
Wiki Wang is one reason I wanted to see the Thursday Show. The brightness that she subtly brings to her fall pieces from the bright reds, bold whites, and floral patches on the dresses to really liven up the more chilly months. We really like all of the pleating detail and bell sleeves that can take this collection from fall to spring, making it wearable all year round.
Amanda Casarez
Amanda Casarez collection had a very strong woman vibe to it with chunky like boyfriend sweaters to the more structured dresses. It brought fall elements in with the color palette with the darker blues, burnt oranges, and gold, with a more modern lux femininty, with a mixture of more masculine tone kind of look.
Madyssen Jean
Madyssen Jean is an 18-year-old designer at the University of Nebraska for her dream job in the fashion industry. This Fall/ Winter collection really tells a darker more feminine story with beautiful silks, velvets, and sheer organza. Deep black and red color palette plays with the sheer fabric and floral accents. I really love the uniqueness of the embroidery work on her pieces. I hope to get the opportunity to see more of her work in the future!
LEE Jeans
Local Lee Jeans put together a wonderful showcase of their fall/winter collection. You can never go wrong with denim or a classic pair of Lee's. The different styles for men and women this year had me wanting to go out and buy some jeans! I really liked the mixture of different colored denim on denim looks and ways to wear it.
Noelle Designs
Ciara Fortun designer of Noelle Designs is a 16-year-old from Nebraska taking a more formal approach to fashion in this collection. Very clean and classic color palette with black, white, and a little gold. Each piece seemed very tailored and timeless. We really like the dip dye formal white gown, making it a very unique look to formal wear. Designing like this at sixteen I think will take her pretty far.
Crystal Brakhage Designs
Crystal Brakhage took a more dark grunge look with this collection. Each piece really felt like a statement being made, like in the cute out skirt! I really liked that this line can be for a more stronger generation of women that can wear bold pieces with confidence. It was interesting to see such a dark color palette, since I've seen more colorful lines of hers but it was a nice difference.
More Than Just Figleaves & Erin Paige
Eve Emanuel is the designer behind More Than Just Figleaves and had a more modern collection for women, one where women can be fashion forward with being more modest than most. Keeping the idea of more class and still looking fashionable. Bold colors and patterns in the mix of her line really made sense why Erin Paige Jewelry went beautifully with it. Erin's jewelry line is boldly unique with mixed metal pieces. Together they made a wonderful mixed collection.
Once the show was over, it left us inspired and ready for Friday night's show. We also met up with some other other bloggers and media who saw the show and compared thoughts while loving to see what they wore themselves.
